Ruhlmann-style daybed

One of Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann's most sophisticated and elegant designs, this beautiful low divan is made with the striking patterns of ebony macassar. It is rectangular, with curved back corners and raised with flush blocks at the back and flat, bronze, disc-shaped feet that protrude at the front.

The sides and back are inlaid with a horizontal line of widely spaced dots in antique ivory, and with a borderline of close dots - also in antique ivory. Each of the two sides is inlaid with spirals in antique ivory.

The caramel upholstery fabric around the mattress, base, mattress, bolster cushions and back cushions is of the highest-quality fabric from Andrew Martin and sets the piece off beautifully.

This daybed is handmade in the UK by highly skilled craftsman and polishers, using only the best-quality materials. It is an authentic reproduction of one of three originals made by Ruhlmann.
